Raised in East Orange, New Jersey then relocated back to 'Eh' Country, "jaQe" is a POWERFUL vocal force in T.dot's R&B music scene. She has been regular background vocalists for Ray Robinson, Divine Brown, Keisha Chante, and Wade O.Brown just to name a few and is vocalist for the soul/funk Toronto band Soul fo' Real. "jaQe" was one the Top Ten finalist for Flow 93.5's Soul Search 2006.
Taking a break from doing strictly background vocals, she decides to explore a solo career. She shares a lead vocal with Ray Robinson on the track "Gotta" released on the album 'What it Is'. More recently "jaQe" wrote and recorded the track "I Need Your Love" produced by Nick 'Fierce' Fiorucci and is set to be featured on his debut album.
Currently you can hear her on Flow 93.5 FM alongside Black-O on the new HipHop track "FLOW". Among "jaQe's" goals as Artist/Songwriter in her own right to create a soul/R&B/dance mix that will tell the story of emotional resonance found in her warm sultry tone, lyrical style, and appeal to a wide audience. By working with co-writers/producers and meeting with key industry professionals, "jaQe" hopes to soon formulate a team to aid her in achieving a debut release with national radio airplay and internationally broadcast Canadian Music Video, with a view to eventually sharing her sound across the world.
A note from "jaQe".........My name is pronounced jah-key. I won't trip if you mispronounce it once or twice. I'm soulful and full of flava!! I love singing live and recording my music in the studio but if I had to choose one it would to have be LIVE fo'sho!! I won't allow anyone or anything to stand in the way of what I've been true 2....what I'm not new to...my relationship with music. I appreciate and consider all constructive criticism because we ALL need it. |
