It is often diversity that leads to beauty. Scottish-born Sherrie Lea leads a musical statement that creates an edgy, moody sound that is both eclectic and memorable.
Sherrie Lea Laird was dreaming of becoming a singer. While she kept it to herself at first, it quickly became apparent that this girl had a gift. Her path eventually merged and the planets aligned when she met Nick Fiorucci of Hi-Bias Records. Sherrie states "I think we hit it off immediately because we were both open minded to trying different things and experiment with a blend of electronic and live instrumentation"
Sherrie and Nick both agree that her music reveals a great deal about her personally, and that the range of emotions heard in the songs are very evident in the recordings. "Anyway" -the new single is ready to take on a life of its own…it's fresh, sexy, energetic and emanates magic of the soul. Sherrie was encouraged to develop her songwriting, and with her new musical partner found a talent in crafting seductive lyrics deep-rooted in new fashioned love themes. The striking lyricism of Sherrie's prose together with Nick's music and production propels dance music to a new plateau. With Sherrie's alluring vocals drawing comparisons to, among others, Eurythmics' Annie Lennox, the two had found the partnership of which they'd long dreamed.
Sherrie Lea formerly known as the lead front person and vocalist of "SULK" has taken a new direction going solo.
Sulk was established as a progressive Pop/Rock band. Hi-Bias Records recognized SULK's undeniable talents and signed them in 2000. That same month offered yet another career highlight for the original duo: Sulk took first place honors in Mix 99 FM's (Toronto) annual songwriting contest.
A new era and an impressive upcoming debut CD will help propel Sherrie Lea to the masses. This year is primed to introduce the extraordinary talents of Sherrie as the buzz gets louder, and the crowds get larger. "Anyway" is currently out on Robbins/BMG in the USA.
