Overall this is a great CD with a good selection of hard to find tracks, for the most part presented in their original extended format. As with any compilation, there are a few 'duds', but for the most part these are good tracks. It would probably have been more useful if the music on each volume was from one timeframe rather than the wide range this contains, and some of the tracks can be found frequently on other 12" compilation cd's.
A word of warning though; if you're only getting this cd for Patrice Rushen's classic 'Forget Me Nots' you will be sadly dissapointed. The version included suffers from way too much compression and you'll notice the volume level going up and down throughout the track.
